Mid-Month October Reading Update

Hi friends. So, here’s a little October Reading Update since we are a little bit past the halfway point of the month.

It’s not going well.

I did not have high hopes for this month, because of what was on my TBR for October.

I have 3 of the 5 ASOIAF books on this list (the books that Game of Thrones is based on, if you’re not familiar.) I’ve also got The Talisman by Stephen King, which is a chunkier book. So far, out of the 11 on my list, I’ve read 3. And one of them, Be Ready When the Luck Happens, was a spontaneous read because my hold came through for Libby through my local library.

I’m definitely struggling, but not too stressed. After reading 21 books last month, I knew that I was going to feel a little burnt out this month. I have plenty of time to still read and review my ARC’s from NetGalley, so it’ll be what it’ll be.

The bottom line that I’m telling myself is this : it’s okay. Yes, there’s a list I’d like to get through, but even if I don’t (no one will be more surprised than me if I do), but it’s okay to not hit the mark every single time.

What are you reading so far this month? I’ll be back at the beginning of November with my October round up and reviews, as well as my list for that month. (Here’s my September round up if you’d like to check that out.)

I hope you’re all doing splendidly. It’s Friday, and we turned on the heat today here in NC, so there it is. 🌴
