Sermon Notes : Destiny & Direction
- Mark 1:16&17
- When good seed meets good soil it produces great harvest for his glory.
- Kingdom culture.
- Religion is trying to prove that you should be picked.
- Jesus picks you.
- There’s something about your last words.
- 2 Peter 3:18
- Grow.
- When you have knowledge without grace you are self righteous.
- The savior determines the destiny and the lord sets the direction.
- Progressive revelation.
- I need to upgrade my definition of Jesus.
- Matthew 16:13-17
- If your words are paint and your life is a canvas what does your portrait show to the world.
- You might be the only Jesus that someone else sees.
- Who do you say that Jesus is?
- It’s all about Jesus.
- Your destiny is determined by a decision : who is Jesus?
- Messiah : savior.
- Jesus came to save you of your sins.
- Ephesians 2:8
- The grace enables you to consider and look at him.
- Faith is your response to that grace.
- You can’t save yourself.
- It’s easier to trust Jesus with my destiny than with my direction.
- I was saved, I will be saved and I’m being saved.
- Mark 6:30-37
- Why are you living under oppressive spirit when God has given you authority over it?
- We all have an image of what we’re expecting.
- What do we do when what we picture doesn’t line up with what we see?
- When you have a different definition you won’t trust the direction.
- What you and I call wilderness, God calls rest.
- The only way to experience grace is to reach the end of yourself and you see the beginning of God.
- I’m not, but God is.
- Don’t settle for common language.
- Desolate places, desolate people.
- Those who refresh others will they themselves be refreshed.
- Mark 6:51-52
- The reason you can’t feed those around you is because you’re feeding your own offense.
- Luke 22:31-34
- God is close.
- When you don’t follow the directions it’s the people you are leading that are punished.
- Your destiny is connected to a decision but the direction is directed by the daily denials of self.
- Do I deny Jesus or do I deny myself?
- What are you feeding that God told you to starve.
- The direction of your life is connected to the denial in your life.
- An unnamed enemy will never be defeated.
- When you do not expose that thing you make it a friend.
- The grace of God is still calling your name.
- John 21:15-19
- God comes to the wilderness to bring us out of it.
- Maturity is not a product of age it’s a byproduct of direction.
- The new outfit won’t cover the old part of you.
