Hi friends. Below are my notes for Pastor Steven Furtick’s sermon God Can Use This Too. This message is from October 20, 2024 at Elevation Church.

You can click here to this message on YouTube.

I’ve also linked the bible verses so that you can click on those to read as well.

Please note that these are not my own thoughts, but simply the notes that I took while listening.

Let me know in the comments below what your favorite takeaway from this sermon is. Mine is when he said don’t argue with the stuff that’s trying to kill you.

Sermon Notes : God Can Use This Too

  • Acts 28:1-10
  • It bit him, but didn’t kill him.
  • Creativity is not defined by how many ideas you have, but by how you implement the ideas that you have.
  • It’s out ability to take the painful things and make something fruitful out of them.
  • God is Creator not just creative.
  • The creator lives inside of you, so he can take something in your life you didn’t necessarily pray for and turn it into exactly what you need in the moment you need it most.
  • When you don’t use wisdom, God will use stupid.
  • God can give the greatest gifts through our stupidest decisions.
  • In spite of stupid.
  • Through stupid.
  • We know what we put ourselves into, so it’s hard for us to believe that God can get us out of them.
  • Grace.
  • You don’t know what to call it until you get there.
  • Is it a crash or a calling?
  • Sometimes God uses a crash as a cover for a calling.
  • You can be onshore but unsure.
  • We don’t know whether something will turn out for the good or a bitter end.
  • Have you landed in a strange place?
  • Strange grace.
  • From people that I don’t even know what to call them, or places I never thought I’d be.
  • Just because you didn’t choose it doesn’t mean he won’t use it.
  • Acts 27:44
  • You gotta praise God for pieces.
  • Sometimes the only way to have peace in your heart is to take the piece you have and float on on what you have.
  • Everyone knows a boat can get you to shore, but so can a board.
  • God will never call you to where he can’t get you with what you still have.
  • God provides in many forms.
  • The key is that we believe that God can use this too.
  • God can use waiting seasons not as wasted seasons.
  • Most of us never stop to question why God really has us here.
  • You are the solution to some else’s future stupid.
  • Sometimes you don’t get to the thing that God wants to do because you don’t recognize what has been brought into your life as a gift.
  • The more warmth a relationship gives you, the more it can wound you.
  • The one they called a murderer would be the ones who heals them.
  • You can’t build anything without getting bit.
  • Anytime you try to interpret your identity through an event, you miss.
  • Why am I really here?
  • How do you want to use this?
  • Not necessarily something God did, but something he can use.
  • His wounds spoke louder than his words.
  • You don’t talk to snakes.
  • Don’t argue with stuff that’s trying to kill you.
  • God knows how to turn a snake into a sign.
  • You’ve got some stuff you need to shake today.
  • It’ll be the loudest sermon you’ve ever preached.
  • Will you use the wound?
  • Don’t get bitter.
  • What is it that you’ve been through that God gave you that your bite marks become passports?
  • Acts 19:11
  • The enemy always bites you where God has blessed you.
  • The pain and the purpose came from the same place.
  • The biggest breakthroughs happen after the biggest bites.
  • What the enemy meant to kill you, God can use to develop you.
  • You can never really understand what it is until you see how God uses it.
  • Your hands were not made for hurting they were made for healing.
  • The favor of God in your life is greater than what comes against you.
