Sermon Notes : God Gave It To Me

  • Sometimes God gives you something that’s not for you.
  • Judges 15:14-20
  • The only real hero in the Bible is Jesus. Everyone else is human. They do heroic things with human tendencies.
  • Heroic capacities and human instincts.
  • Some of the stuff that God does to set you free, you won’t even see he just does it.
  • Freeing you for the fight.
  • God gave it to me
  • Keeps us from becoming prideful because everything were good at is a gift from God.
  • 1 Corinthians 4:7
  • There’s a difference between a good idea and a God idea.
  • God can give you one idea or a person to reah out to to help you with your current challenge.
  • One idea to put you on a brand new path of life.
  • It’s different when God gives it.
  • Nobody can steal your peace without your permission.
  • No one can ruin your day unless you turn the responsibility over to them.
  • Guard what you have been given.
  • Take care of what God gave you.
  • We give stuff away too cheap that was given to us by someone really important.
  • You give away your healthy heart to engage in a hellish debate.
  • Jesus gave us unity as his church.
  • So let’s not let the devil divide us over stupid stuff when it took his precious blood to put us together.
  • We summarize someone’s life down to one thing : either their gift or their glitch.
  • Never let anybody identify you with your gift or with your glitch.
  • You are so much more than both of those.
  • God gives great callings to flawed people.
  • Our desires are complicated.
  • We can be both things at once.
  • When it comes down to it, we’re all kind of selfish in our heart.
  • When the spirit of the lord comes on your life you might be surprised by what you can do before you knew to call on God into your life
  • Realizing what god had done in your life is enough to keep coming to church on Sunday.
  • A whole week passes and we forget everything he’s brought us through.
  • We all need weapons from time to time.
  • You have no weapon in your hand for thr fight you didn’t expect.
  • And the weapon you have isn’t what you’d have chosen.
  • But God says the worst weapon with him is better than the best one without him.
  • The best weapon is the one you’ve got.
  • It doesn’t have to look like much to do a lot.
  • It doesn’t have to be impressive to be effective.
  • When it starts with God, it ends in victory.
  • When it starts with me, it ends in defeat.
  • When something is given by God it must be guarded.
  • Why are you praising the thing that he used whenever you know good and well that it wasn’t enough to get the job done.
  • When you start to think that the thing God did through you proves how great you are.
  • Where is God in your song?
  • Don’t praise the thing you used, praise the one who kept it from breaking.
  • If God wouldn’t have brought you out of that situation, you wouldn’t even be here today.
  • I grabbbed what I had and God did what he does.
  • You don’t need a better weapon, you need a more worshipful spirit.
  • The miracle of your life is that you didn’t break.
  • We name stuff wrong.
  • Samson is winning but he’s worn out.
  • Everyone can look at you and envy you and not have empathy.
  • They don’t know how much energy it cost you.
  • Even though I won…for what?
  • It can be very empty to stand in a victory that you believe you produced.
  • We get busy noticing the instrument, but the mastery is not in the one but the one who uses it.
  • What is going to have to happen so God can refresh me so I can do everything hes called me to do.
  • You can’t die in this dry place or discouragement.
  • When you refocus, God refills.
  • If he gave me this calling, no one can take it.
  • Everything that god has spoken of you that hasn’t become a stalk yet, you just haven’t made it to your then yet.
  • Get grateful, joyful.
  • Stop despising what god gave you.
  • You are glitches and gifts but also neither. You are God’s.
  • You can’t hate what god gave you and pray for him to use it.
  • Pride and insecurity.
  • Both of those are rooted in the wrong starting place.
  • God gave it to you. So you don’t have to be jealous of any body else.
  • Don’t apologize for it or diminish it.
  • But we also can’t depend on it. It’s not about thr success of our weapon,  the strength of God.
  • What are you doing with the strength God gave you?
  • You don’t get to waste it. Use it.
