Sermon Notes : Who You Talking To?

  • 1 Samuel 17:41-47
  • Sometimes the enemy doesn’t even do anything but the threat of what could happen can leave many of us stuck in fear.
  • Who talks to you more than you?
  • You are an influential communicator.
  • There’s always a voice on the inside talking to you about you.
  • What are you saying about what’s being said?
  • It’s the internal narrative that is navigating your life right now.
  • You would slap a person if they talked to you the way you talked to you.
  • The enemy always sounds like you. That is the voice you are wanting war against every day.
  • Most of the fights have little to do with the external conversations and more to do with the internal conversations.
  • Familiarity robs us of revelation.
  • Before the confrontation there are so many conversations.
  • The enemy has already convinced you that you don’t have what it takes for the fight.
  • 5 critical conversations
  • The small things are actually the big things.
  • Whatever the father asks of me, my pleasure.
  • Heart of Humility
  • Some of us can never knock down our Goliath because we can never knock down the giant of pride.
  • Pride is blocking the door.
  • Not opposition, opportunity.
  • People can hear the same thing and have different reactions.
  • People will never understand the way you move because they don’t hear what you hear.
  • Vision of victory.
  • Whatever you focus on is what’s going to grow in your life.
  • I know my real enemy.
  • You have been wasting energy trying to fight the wrong person, they are not the enemy.
  • You can’t win a battle in someone else’s armor.
  • Work your weapon.
  • You’ll never grab your weapon until you take off some else’s armor.
  • Take off what is not yours.
  • You know it’s the enemy when you are being mocked.
  • Throw the name.
